Mal-uk Home >>>Learn Driving
Since the time you were born you were meant to learn new experiences and create new projects. That's how we developed as a human race. You were born inquisitive, listening, touching, seeing, experiencing all new things with an open enquiring mind.
As you progressed through school you had a lot of these natural tendencies suppressed either by yourself (fear of being told off) or by your peer group (fear of being different).
When you first start Learning to drive at the age of 17+ you will have been programmed by our education system, not to think but to remember answers from a multiple choice question bank. You will have been programmed to have studied a certain way just to pass exams, not to think original thought.
You leave school or university never having failed an exam. Then 'WHAM' you fail your driving test. What a blow to your ego. How could you possibly fail? You took enough driving lessons. Must be the examiner being a bit to harsh. You think!
To learn how to drive a car safely you need to think outside of the 'box' & possibly completely different to the way you normally think when taking exams.
When Learning to drive you will need to read & understand the Highway Code. This is your book of rules. You should not read it as you would a novel, you should chunk it down into bitesize chunks & understand every part of it. Next you should understand the workings of a car [not the engine nor any mechanical device]. How to operate the cluch, brakes, steering, indicators etc. At the same time to look in the mirrors & change gear.
Once you have almost got the hang of moving the car forward, backwards & around corners, you can then implement the rules of the road. So far, a fairly straight forward learning process. Now you need to advance your driver training to deal with other road users at a speed & efficiency you may find daunting. This is where all of those exams you passed will not help. You are on your own. You have to think original thought and at the same time keep within the rules & remember how to operate your car controls.
